AIM 6.8 Beta includes real-time IM
AOL has come up with a great milestone in the IM world. Now you can actually see what your friends are typing before they hit that backspace key and send the text to you. This feature is included in AIM 6.8 which is still in beta mode. More people are going to hate rather than loving this feature.
If both the IM users are using AIM 6.8, one person can actually see what the other is typing even before the text is sent. While typing, the text appears highlighted and the time stamp reads “typing”. When the message is sent, it appears normal like the other messages.

For the Real-time instant messaging to be active, both the parties have to accept same like viewing webcam or voice chat. If the user1activates the Real-time session, User2 has the option to accept or decline.
Currently, this feature is compatible with iChat, Pidgin and other third party IM clients. If this feature is loved by IM users, it may come to other populats IM services too. For the time being you’re left with only AIM to try this feature.
