Methanol powered PC
I don’t know whether this is a Green Era or something. Everyone is going green from Big companies like Apple to local markets asking us to bring our own shopping bag. Now it’s time for Notebooks to green too.
Polyfuel is the company behind this innovative technology of powering the notebook with Methanol. If you are not familiar with the ‘term’ methanol, it’s an alcohol family very closely related to our good old booze.
The prototype of this green laptop from Profuel uses direct methanol fuel cell (DMFC), in which the methanol is converted into an electricity to run the computer. If you are wondering what’s so green about this? Well, the fuell can be re-filled and this is a new tytpe of fuel cell which operated quietly without pollution. The by-products of the process are only water and heat.
