Gears of War about to hit the big screen

Video games and Comics are becoming so famous, almost each and everyone of them which we enjoyed during our childhood is hitting the big screen. The Video game industry is generating more bucks compared to the movie that is released in the theaters.

Gear of the War - the famous video game is next in the list. Legendary Pictures and New Line are said to be co-financing the film. Legendary Pictures always enjoy financing the geeky movies. They’re also the financial backers for the “Dark Knight” in theaters right now.

NASA makes image library available to public

If you want to know what’s happening at the unexplored or very hard-to-go places on the earth, you can always count on National Georgaphic for the images. For things happening outside the each you need to depend on NASA.

For the first time in history, NASA has partnered with non-profit Internet Archive and making the image gallery available for public that will have 21 major Nasa imagery collections merged into a single searchable online resource.

Fabrik [re]drive - Eco-friendly external hard drive

In the modern, fast pace, environment polluting world, everyone is going green. The purpose of going green is to have an effective use of the resources and at the same time reducing the impact on the environment (because of the by-products).

Fabrik has announced their world’s most eco-friendly external hard drive called the Fabrik SimpleTech [re]drive. The drive enclosure is made from recycled aluminum and bamboo. Fabrik packages an Energy Star power adapter with the drive and the actual package material the [re]drive ships in is made from 100% recycled materials.

Face Swapper protects Privacy

Kevin Kelly at KK got an interesting post about the cool software Face swapper developed by Dmitri Bitouk and Neeraj Kumar of Columbia University that “de-indentifies” people in photos to protect their privacy.

Face swapping software finds faces in a photograph and swaps the features in the target face from a library of faces. This can be used to “de-identify” faces that appear in public, such as the faces of people caught by the cameras of Google Street View.
