French train riders get USB drives as tickets


French public transport company SNCF is planning to introduce RFID enables smart cards called Weneo smart cards with USB connectivity that will allow the customers to connect the drive to PC at home or any computer and add funds through the SNCF website.


This USB drive will act like a debit card and you can store train schedules also to it. The company is planning to do a initial trial with 1000 customers by providing them with these USB tickets. This will reduce the queues and waiting at the stations. [via]
