Solar powered spy plane breaks flight record

British scientists have broken the flight record using a solar powered spy plane. The plane with a wing span of 60ft and batteries that store power from the sun, it stayed in air for almost three and half days.

World’s first bio-degradable USB Key

Disk drives have already gone green.But, Hong Kong based company Hoshino has today announced their product what they call “the world’s first bio-degradable USB disk” I don’t really know whether USB disk drives are really creating so much of environmental problems.

Maple phone with less plastic

We already saw Green PCs and even hard drives going green. Now cellphones are also joining the green revolution. Hyun Jin Yoon and Eun Hak Lee are the two designers behind this Maple phone.

Maple Phone is made of a thin layer of wood with touch sensitive buttons that light up through the housing when you touch the phone.

The cell phone measures 4.5 x 10.4 x 9.8 cm and is a slider with functions like calling, texting, MP3 player and digital camera. It provides basic cell phone functionalities in a cool and unique handset inspiring “special emotion” with its soft feel and a natural look.

Fabrik [re]drive - Eco-friendly external hard drive

In the modern, fast pace, environment polluting world, everyone is going green. The purpose of going green is to have an effective use of the resources and at the same time reducing the impact on the environment (because of the by-products).

Fabrik has announced their world’s most eco-friendly external hard drive called the Fabrik SimpleTech [re]drive. The drive enclosure is made from recycled aluminum and bamboo. Fabrik packages an Energy Star power adapter with the drive and the actual package material the [re]drive ships in is made from 100% recycled materials.
