iPhone was not calling home

According to John Gruber (Daring Fireball), an “informed source” at Apple had revealed that iPhone was not calling home. the “clbl” in the aforementioned URL stands for “Core Location Blacklist” and is actually used to stipulate that specific pieces of software don’t have access to Core Location. So to tell the truth, it’s actually protecting your privacy from all those nasty applications.

iTunes 7.7.1 available for download

That’s right people! iTunes 7.7.1 is available for download. Though is no clear information on what this update will do except for a few vague words as “fixes to improve stability and performance“.

Also remember this update is available in few days after the iPhone app DRM was cracked. So if you are playing with the black arts, wait or someone to report whether this affects anything. The software is available through the Apple’s software update.

New iPod nanos to Have Zune-like Bodies

iLounge has an interesting news that, upcoming iPod nanos will have a bigger screen with aspect ratio of 1.5:1 same as iPhone and iPod touch.

In order to give room for the bigger screen, the iPod nano will be pulled back to the old-school third generation dimensions. There is also a rumor that iPod will have paint jobs.
