Solar powered spy plane breaks flight record

British scientists have broken the flight record using a solar powered spy plane. The plane with a wing span of 60ft and batteries that store power from the sun, it stayed in air for almost three and half days.

Abandoned NASA Trailer found with Retro Stuffs

Photographer Richard Harrington stumbled upon one of these trailers, abandoned on a dusty lot somewhere between L.A. and Las Vegas packed with retro style space-tech stuffs. The name on the trailer reads ‘Jet Propulsion Laboratory’ which has a somewhat surprising history of running major missions out of modular trailers scattered around their Pasadena HQ to monitor the missions and operations.

Virgin Galactic’s Mothership Aircraft WhiteKnightTwo unveiled

Burt Rutan and Sir Richard Branson gathered for the Virgin Galactic’s twin-hulled mothership, “Eve,” named after Sir Richard’s own mom — who formally christened WhiteKnightTwo with the pop of a champagne bottle.

The craft will first serve as a flight simulator next month for pilots who train in launching private citizens into space. With a 140-foot wingspan, the craft is anything but ordinary and will carry the SpaceShipTwo to a height of 50,000 feet above ground level whereby the vessel will separate and blast off into space on its own.
